FAQ 

Q. Are dogs allowed in the races?
A. We love our four-legged running friends, however - dogs are NOT allowed on the race course per our insurance provider. Dogs on a leash are welcome at the park and as spectators, but owners are fully responsible and liable for their pets at all times.

Q. Are baby joggers/strollers allowed?
A. Baby joggers are allowed in 5k/15k/2M Walk but are asked to start at the rear of the pack to prevent any potential traffic hazards. Participants are responsible for ensuring that jogger/stroller is in safe working condition and children are strapped in safely. We remind participants that although vehicular traffic is minimal – there may be cars. Please use caution.

Q. Do I have to pay for my baby in the Scenic Walk?
A. NO. There is no longer a ‘Wee Ones’ category – as any participant in a stroller is not required to pay to participate. Strollers are welcome in the 2M walk.

Q. Can someone ride a bike on the race course with me?
A. The Park roads are open during the race and we cannot enforce removal. However, with the exception of lead bicycles, we cannot allow bicycles “within the race” due to insurance regulations.

Q. Can I walk the 15K, Trail Race, or the 5K?
A. If you are a fast walker, you will be able to walk the 15K, Trail Race, or the 5K. The 15K course closes 2 hours and 15 minutes after the start which is a little over 14 minutes per mile. The Trail Race closes 2 hours after the start which is a fifteen minute mile. The 5K course allows for 60 minutes after it starts which is a little over 19 minutes per mile.

Q. Can I run with my child in the Kiddie K?

A. Parents may join younger runners in the Kiddie K if necessary, but will be asked to sign a waiver to join on the course.

Q. When will I find my finish time?
A. Preliminary results will be posted at the race as soon as they are known. If you should happen to place – please make every attempt to stay for the Awards Ceremony to receive your prize. We would love to get a picture of you claiming your award! Awards will NOT be mailed. If you are unable to stay, your award will be available at Fast Break Athletics the week following the race (4/15 – 4/22). They are located at 300 Cherokee Blvd, Chattanooga, TN 37415 – please be sure to thank them for sharing their space!

Q. Will the final results be posted?
A . Final results will be posted on the Chattanooga Track Club website on race day under
‘Result’: www.chattanoogatrackclub.org. A notification will be posted on the Chickamauga Chase & Chattanooga Track Club Facebook pages.

Q. Can I pay my entry fee with a credit card?

A. You may pay with credit card at packet pick up on Friday, April 12th, (4:00 PM to 7:00 PM – Whole Foods Market). There will be a $2.00 processing fee added to your charge. Credit card payment will NOT be accepted on race morning – cash or check only (checks payable to CTC).

Q. Can I pay my entry fee with cash before race day?

A. Yes. Cash or check will be accepted at packet pick up on Friday. Checks should be made payable to
CTC (Chattanooga Track Club). You may mail in a paper entry

Q. When and where is Early Packet Pick up?
A. Packet pick up for the 2019 race will be at Whole Foods Market, 301 Manufacturers Road, Chattanooga, TN 37405. PLEASE PRESENT PHOTO ID. Parking is FREE and packets will be available from 4pm to 7pm. Whole Foods will also be providing our racers with a $5.00 pasta dinner from 5pm – 7pm. Pasta dinners will be available for purchase (racers & family/guests) at checkout on the 1st floor. Packet pick up and pasta dinner will take place on the 2nd floor. Race day volunteers will also be eligible for the pasta dinner on 4/12.

Q. Can I pick up my friend’s packet at Early Packet Pick up on the 12th?
A. YES. We would like to have as many packets as possible picked up on Friday to ease the process on race morning. HOWEVER – we will request to see permission in the form of a text, email, forwarded race confirmation. We will record the name of those picking up packets on someone else’s behalf.



Q. Do I have to pick up my packet at Early Packet Pickup on the 12th?

A. No. You may pick up your packet on race morning at Wilder Field beginning at 7:00 am. Please arrive early. The line on race mornings can sometimes be long.

Q. Where do I park?

A. Weather permitting, we will park at the recreational field inside the Chickamauga Battlefield (follow signage from either end of Lafayette to field at the intersection of Vittetoe-Chickamauga & Glenn-Kelly Rds). If NPs determines the fields to be too wet to park (vehicles will damage field) – we will park at Oakwood Baptist Church in Chickamauga. We will notify participants via e-mail, Facebook posts, news updates on Chattanooga Track Club’s website (www.runctc.org).

Q. Will I be able to register on race day?
Most likely. The cap for all entries is 2,000 (400 of which are assigned to the trail race). HOWEVER – please note that the entry fee is higher for walk up registration. Please also note that we cannot guarantee t-shirts or correct t-shirt size for walk up registrations.

Q. Are there restrooms at the start and on the course?
There are portable toilets at registration/packet pick up (Wilder Field). There are toilets on the course 15K course ONLY on Brotherton Rd (~mile 4.5). There are NOT shower facilities at the park.

Q. If I cannot come to the race, can I get my entry fee back or give my registration to someone else?
A. No. Entry fees are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be deferred to another year.

Q. Does my entry fee include a t-shirt?

We expect to have plenty of t-shirts, but cannot guarantee to those who choose walk up registration. Sizes are guaranteed to those who registered by 3/22.

Q. Can I get a different size t-shirt than the one I put on my registration form?
A. Possibly. If you pre-registered and decide your t-shirt size isn’t ideal you may check with the walk up registration table to see if you can swap. We will also allow post-race swapping of clean shirts so be sure to check back after the race.
