For Immediate Release

So you think you’re fast enough to set a Tennessee state record for two miles, but didn’t know where to go or who to ask?  Go to www.staterunningrecords.com to see just what the standard for your age group is and come out and challenge it.

Your chance will come on Saturday, July 25 when the first-ever Scenic City Scorcher will be held in downtown Chattanooga.

It’s a flat and fast two-mile course that begins on River Street (right next to Coolidge Park) and runs past the GPS track and softball field into Heritage Landing, where it loops around and returns to the start.

The field is limited to 175 runners, so register online early. Race-day registration will be held only if there are spots still available.

Pre-registration fee is $20 with race-day prices going up to $25.

Packet pickup will begin at 6 a.m. on the 25th with the race beginning at 7:30. Awards will be presented at 8:30.
