2016 MISSIONARY RIDGE ROAD RACE!

The 44th annual Missionary Ridge Road Race will be held on Saturday, August 6 with the out-and-back 4.7 mile race starting and finishing at Bragg Reservation.

 

The race, which benefits the American Red Cross and the Team Bruner Scholarship fund, begins at 8 a.m. with a one-mile fun run/walk set to begin immediately afterward.

 

Early online registration is available until midnight on Thursday, August 4 while race-day registration will begin at 6:30 a.m.  As has been the case in recent years, there's no parking at Bragg Reservation, but there will be a shuttle service running back and forth from McCallie School, located at 500 Dodds Avenue, starting at 6 a.m.

 

Awards will be presented to the overall male and female along with master and grand master age groups in addition to the usual age group awards.  The first male and female overall will also earn $100 for their effort with second place receiving $50.

 

Both masters winners will also collect $50.

 

Pre-race packet pickup will take place on Friday, August 5 from 4-7 p.m. at Outdoor Chattanooga, located in Coolidge Park at 200 River Street.

 

John Gilpin and Keeley Stewart are the defending champs with Gilpin's winning time being 24:38 and Stewart finishing 15th overall in 30:55.

 

In addition to the usual age group awards, the annual Arnold Godwin Award will be presented to the oldest participant in memory of Godwin, who loved this race and ran it many times.
