The Chattanooga Chase is a fun and exciting event for runners, joggers and walkers of all ages and abilities. The event offers two events an 8km run or a 1 mile run. Weather is typically mid 70's, slightly humid.
Join us on May 25th for one of the oldest, most scenic races in Chattanooga! The Chattanooga Chase features an 8km and 1 mile run through the scenic neighborhoods of North Chattanooga.
Come out and run the 8k, 1 mile or BOTH!!! If you're really feeling tough, come out and run dressed as your favorite super hero. Best costume selected by the race participants will win a trophy! In addition all kids running in the Chattanooga Chase will get a medal. This is a fun event for everybody! $5.00 discount will be applied for individuals who register to participate in BOTH events! Register by May 10th to beat price increase!
The 8k race will begin at 8:00am, followed by the 1 mile at 9:30 am. Race day registration will be available beginning at 6:30am. The event will be capped at 500 total racers. Packet pick up for those who pre-registered will be on Saturday, May 24th from 5pm – 7pm at the YMCA.
Known for its creative awards, the Chattanooga Chase will give out awards in the 8km event to the top 3 male and female Overall, Masters and Grand Masters winners. Awards will be given out to the top 3 male and female in the following age groups: 14 and under, 15 – 19, 20 – 24, 25 – 29, 30 – 34, 35 – 39, 40 – 44, 45 – 49, 50 – 54, 55 – 59, 60 – 64, 65 – 69, 70+
Awards for the mile will be given to top 3 male and female Overall, Masters and the following age groups: 14 and under, 15 - 29, 20 – 39, 40 – 59, 60+. Those who do not place in their age group but run under a given time according to their age and gender will also receive an award. Those who run in both events will receive a medal after the 1 mile run.
Both competitive races begin and end at Riverview Park, 1000 Barton Ave. in Chattanooga. The 8k winds through the beautiful neighborhoods surrounding the Chattanooga Country Club. Runners can expect a relatively flat first mile with miles 2 and 3 being uphill. Runners are then rewarded with a significant downhill heading toward mile 4 followed by a gently sloping downhill to reach mile 5.
