The course will be primarily grass with some hills and will end on the track at the finish line. It will be free from vehicle traffic. Race length for each grade will be approximately 1 mile for 3rd grade, 1.25 miles for 4th & 5th grades, and 1.50 miles for 6th grade.

Bus and car parking will be available at the school. A full concession stand will be available. Customized race t-shirts will also be available for you to purchase. Please feel free to invite parents, grandparents, friends, and administrators. Admission will be $2. Kids under 6 are free.

Deadline to confirm team participation in the race is OCTOBER 17, 2014. Please send in total number of runners and coaches by Friday, October 24, 2014. This will give us an idea on how many lunches to have for all runners and coaches. Lunch will consist of a hotdog, chips, dessert, and drink.

The registration fee is $8.00 for each runner. Checks should be made to FPHS Track & Field. Fees can be paid the day of the race.

Schools may bring 6 female and 6 male runners from each grade and each school. Also, if you dont have a full team of 6 dont worry about it, the runners can still qualify for the individual medals. If you have runners that finish 7th or 8th in your qualifying races (timing them at school) and the times are close to your 6th place finisher, please dont exclude them. If this happens, fell free to bring extra runners. Just let me know the extra number and which grade this applies to.

The Top 5 runners from each race will score points for their team. Therefore, if one of your runners has to drop out or has a bad day, you will still have 5 runners scoring point for your team. First place receives (1pt), 2nd place (2pts), 3rd place (3pts), 4th place (4pts), & 5th place (5pts). In the event of a tie, we will score your 6th place runner. The lowest team total wins, just as in golf.

There will be a team champion for each grade level girls and boys races with a first place team trophy for all 8 races. For example: 3rd grade girls will have a team winner and 3rd grade boys will have a team winner and the same for all other grades. A team that fails to finish at least 5 runners in their race will not be eligible for team points but will be eligible for any of the Top 8 individual medals. The TOP 8 FINISHERS FOR EACH GRADE WILL RECEIVE A MEDAL. Participation ribbons will go to the remaining finishers.

I am attaching a copy of our liability waiver that each runner needs to sign along with their parents or guardian. These waivers will need to be brought with the coach on the day of the race. Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to call or email me.
