Chattanooga , TN  30K, 10K

Registration closes: Wed, Sep 16 @ 11:59PM

Salomon CITYTRAIL Chattanooga

Join us for a new run in Chattanooga: the Salomon CITYTRAIL race--a hybrid trail and road running event. Both distances start at 8:00AM on Sunday November 15th.

See the full details here.

With both the 30K and 10K options, you will receive:

  • A unique Salomon tech t-shirt ($40 retail value)
  • A custom pint glass
  • One free post-race beer (if you can prove that you are old enough)

You get all of this in addition to perhaps one of the most unique running events anywhere.

The Salomon CityTrail race will undoubtedly go down as an "urban epic" running experience. This course will not only test you with the fitness challenges that you would expect from Wild Trails, but you will also get an inside look at some of our city's historic features. Let's take a look: The race starts and finishes at the stunning Renaissance park bordering the Tennessee river in downtown Chattanooga. Both the 10K and the 30K races start at the same time but head off in different directions right from the start.

The race is a fund-raiser for Wild Trails, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit that spearheads trail access and maintenance efforts in the Chattanooga area. Net proceeds benefit Wild Trails.

30k Course Description

The 30K course takes you over the longest pedestrian bridge in the country before looping you around and through no less than 18 classic Chattanooga landmarks including, Ross's Landing and the 21st Century Waterfront and it's rather large fountains, our Urban Art park, the historic Chattanooga Choo Choo, Chattanooga's National Cemetery, the Zoo, running the stairs of our historic Engel stadium where Babe Ruth played, followed by more alleys as you continue on to UTC's campus (Cardiac Hill included). The River Walk follows and leads you back to the Tennessee River and the Museum district, around the infield of the At&T stadium. You'll then cross the Market Street and then you will be treated by the same loop through Stringers Ridge. So for a bit over 18 miles this course doesn't just run next to, but through at least 18 iconic landmarks in Chattanooga, all while keeping off the roads ensuring this race will be an instant classic course in the Salomon CityTrail series. Don't miss it.

10k Course Description

The 10K course winds through a short commercial section before heading through some residential streets for a mile or so before heading onto single track nature trail in the nationally acclaimed Stringers Ridge Nature Park. 3+ miles on some of the most amazing trails around leads you to another mile of residential roads before making a spectacular loop around Renaissance park to the finish.

In addition to the standard podium and age group awards, we will also be conducting two team events, both at no additional cost. For the city team event, you have the option to run for your city’s team. The only qualification is that your city must have a running club of some sort because we must have some organization address for mailing the award. The second option is a High School team event and you don’t even need to be in High School yet to qualify. You only need to be under the age of 19. To sign up for the team events, just fill in the proper fields. Each team must have at least 5 runners to qualify. Standard cross country racing scoring system. 1 point for first, 2 for second, etc. Lowest 5 scores count. We will have really cool awards that will be mailed to the top 3 male and femals city's track and High School team winners. The individual runners names will be on the award.
