Brief Overview

Certified 15K (main event), Certified 5K, & Scenic Walk (Strollers welcome, walk only!). Registration begins 7:00 a.m. EST, 15K & 5K Races begin at 8:30 a.m. EST, followed closely by the Scenic Walk. 


Scenic Walk:

The Scenic Walk is non-competitive. Strollers and baby joggers are encouraged in this event. The baby/child in the stroller must be registered to participate, however the fee is only $5 which does include a wee-ones t-shirt.

 

15K & 5K:

The 15K (9.3-Mile) and 5K (3.1-Mile) Runs are competitive events with age/gender categories and awards. Both race courses are certified. Participants must let officials know before the race if they decide to change events. Strollers and baby joggers are not allowed in these events.

Awards Info

Unique Battlefield-theme awards have become a favorite for Chickamauga Chase participants. Male and female Overall, Masters and Grand Masters (the Jack McFarland Award for the 15K) will be presented special custom-made awards.

 

Location

The Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park is located a few miles south of Chattanooga, Tennnesee, near Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia and the historic small town of Chickamauga, Georgia.


On the fields and hills that make up the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, Union and Confederate armies clashed during the fall of 1863 in some of the fiercest fighting of the Civil War.

Packet Pickup:

Packet Pickup Friday, April 13th, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Sports Barn North, 1790 Hamill Rd., Hixson, TN 37343, 423-870-2582 and from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Sports Barn East, 6148 Lee Highway, Chattanooga, TN 37421, 423-855-0091. Race Day packet pickup at the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park begins at 7:00 a.m. - follow the Chickamauga Chase signs from Hwy. 27.

 

Directions

From I-75, take Exit 350 west on Georgia Hwy. 2A (Battlefield Parkway) for about 7 miles. Turn left (south) on Highway 27 (Lafayette Road) for about 1 mile and enter the park. Watch for CHASE signs for directions to race parking. Parking is in the recreation field on Glen-Viniard Road. Please follow the park rangers’ instructions for traffic and parking control.

Course Info

The course is paved, rolling, and free from most vehicular traffic. The 15K certified course takes runners past many of the park's historic sites, monuments, and markers. The 5K is also certified, paved, and free from most vehicular traffic.
