Brief Overview

Run in coordination with Chattanooga’s nationally recognized Riverbend Festival, the BlueCross Riverbend Run & Walk includes a 10k race, a 5k race, a 5k walk, and a 1-mile fun run/walk.

Awards Info

10K Race Cash Awards
Cash awards for 10K - 1st place winners, male and female, will receive $100 cash awards, 1st place masters (40 & over) winners, male and female, will receive $50 cash awards and 1st place grand masters (50 & over) winners, male and female, will receive $25 cash awards. All cash award winners will receive two (2) tickets to the June 13 Riverbend Festival. Cash awards will be presented at the Festival on June 13 in the evening. Winners must be present to receive cash awards.

5K Race Cash Awards
Cash awards for 5K - 1st place winners, male and female, will receive $50 cash awards, 1st place masters (40 & over) winners, male and female, will receive $25 cash awards and 1st place grand masters (50 & over) winners, male and female, will receive $15 cash awards. All cash award winners will receive two (2) tickets to the June 13 Riverbend Festival. Cash awards will be presented at the Festival on June 13 in the evening. Winners must be present to receive cash awards.

10K Age Group Awards
1st overall, 1st masters and 1st grand masters, male and female. Three (3) age group awards, male and female, 18 & under, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over.

5K Age Group Awards
1st overall, 1st masters and 1st grand masters, male and female. Three (3) age group awards, male and female, 8 & under, 9-12, 13-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over.

Accommodations

Hotels close to the race start include the Days Inn Rivergate, 901 Carter St, 423-266-7331; the Marriott at #2 Carter Plaza, 423-756-0002; and The Read House, 827 Broad St, 423-266-4121. Hotels fill up early due to the Riverbend Festival. Please make your reservations early.

Registration & Early Packet Pickup
Available at the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee tent at the Riverbend Festival on the Chestnut Street side of the Tennessee Aquarium from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. EDT Friday, June 5 through Friday, June 12 (the booth is closed Monday, June 9). The tent can be reached without going into the Riverbend Festival.

Directions To The Start
From Nashville-Take I-24 East to Hwy 27 North. /From Atlanta-Take I-75 North to I-24 West. Follow Hwy 27 North. /From Knoxville-Take I-75 South to I-24 West. Follow Hwy 27 North. ////From Hwy 27 North or South exit onto MLK BLVD. Turn West on MLK BLVD (going away from downtown). Turn right into the free parking lot at the Gateway Bldg of BCBST.

Directions to Early Packet Pickup
From Nashville-Take I-24 East to Hwy 27 North. /From Atlanta-Take I-75 North to I-24 West. Follow Hwy 27 North. /From Knoxville-Take I-75 South to I-24 West. Follow Hwy 27 North ////From Hwy 27 North or South exit onto 4th Street. Park at nearest legal parking place. Walk on Broad St. north toward the river to the front of the Tennessee Aquarium. Turn left and walk down the sidewalk to the back of the BlueCross Riverbend Run & Walk tent.

Course Info

New and exciting courses for 2009!! 10K and 5K races, 5K walk and 1-Mile fun run/walk begin and end near the bottom of Cameron Hill Circle leading to the new BCBST campus, Chattanooga, TN 37402. Both the 10K and 5K races will be certified and will be scored electronically.
