Overview - The Chattanooga Chase is the oldest race in Chattanooga. This year will mark the 46th running of this historic event. The event will feature an 8km, (5 mile) competitive race and through the beautiful neighborhoods surrounding the Chattanooga Country Club. The race begins and ends at Riverview Park, 1000 Barton Ave. in Chattanooga. The race will begin at 8:00am with registration opening at 7:00am. You can preregister online at active.com and searching Chattanooga Chase in the search bar. This year there is a competitive 1 mile run that will start at 9:30am. Runners can run in either event or both events. The event will be capped at 500 total racers.
Course Description: The Chattanooga Chase offers a challenging yet rewarding course. The first mile is relatively flat with miles 2 and 3 being fairly uphill. Participants then have the fortune of having mile 4 being significantly downhill, with mile 5 gently sloping downhill back to Riverview Park. Weather is typically low 70's,
Awards: Known for its awards the Chattanooga Chase will give out awards in the 8km event to the top 3 overall, masters and grand masters winners, male and female. Awards will be given out to the top 3 in the following age groups, male and female. and under 14, 15 – 19, 20 – 24, 25 – 29, 30 – 34, 35 – 39, 40 – 44, 45 – 49, 50 – 54, 55 – 59, 60 – 64, 65 – 69, 70+ Awards for the mile will be male and female top 3 overall, and top 3 masters and top 3 male and female for the following age groups. 14 and under. 15 - 29, 20 – 39, 40 – 59, 60+. Those who do not place in their age group but run under a given time according to their age and gender will also receive an award. Those who run in both events will receive a medal after the 1 mile run. Cash prizes for the top 3 overall male and female for both events will be given out. 8km - $100, $50, $30, & the 1 mile - $40, $25, $15 for first second and third respectively. All who preregister are gauranteed a shirt.
All participants who register by April 10, 2013 are guaranteed a technical shirt. Participants who register after April 10 but before the day of the race will be given shirts if they are available race day. Race day registrants or those registered after April but did not receive a shirt can pick up their shirt at Fast Break Athletics starting on June 29, 2013. T-shirt pick up for those who pre-registered will be on May 17th from 5pm – 7pm at Riverview Park.
Awards Info

Door prizes will also be given out after the race.

There will be two water stations on the course at mile 1.5 and mile 4.
