Brief Overview

The Chattanooga Chase is the oldest run road race presented by the Chattanooga Track Club.  The proceeds of the 2006 race benefit Chattanooga's Victim Offender Reconciliation Program (VORP).

The course is paved and rolling in a circular route that takes runners through one of Chattanooga's premier residential areas.  Our main event is the 8K race, but the 5K is also extremely competitive and popular.   Our 1 mile Walk/Fun Run is a popular event, as well, and strollers are welcome and encouraged.

All participants receive an awesome 100% cotton singlet and runners packet.  Refreshments and drinks will be provided.

The proceeds of the Chattanooga Chase support Community Reconciliation Inc., the Victim Offender Reconciliation  Program (VORP), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing an alternative means to deal with juvenile non violent crime.  VORP gives juvenile offenders a second chance and reduces recidivism.  Victims are given the opportunity to face the person who has harmed them and tell them how they have been impacted by the crime.  The offender is required to make restitution to the victim for damages and take responsibility for what they have done.  Trained volunteer facilitators assist the victim and offender through this process.  Participation is voluntary and offered without charge to all who participate.  Similar programs in TN and throughout the U.S. have reduced the number of second time offenders by at least 50%.
