A free Runner’s Expo will be held in conjunction with packet pickup Friday, 11/9 at the Marriott Chattanooga from 4 – 9 pm.

A terrific pre-race pasta dinner will be provided by Fazoli’s at the historic Bessie Smith Hall, 200 East M L King Blvd (about three blocks from the Marriott Chattanooga), from 5:30 – 8 :00 pm Friday. The cost is $10/person and open to everyone. Reservation tickets are recommended, but they will also be available at the door.

Early packet pickup and late registration will be at the Marriott Chattanooga at the Convention Center, 2 Carter Plaza, Chattanooga, TN 37402. Participants may register and pre-registerted participants may pick up their packets with race number, t-shirt and race information Friday evening November 9 from 4 - 10 pm ET. Race day registration and packet pickup at Oakwood Baptist Church, 115 Oakwood St., Chickamauga GA 30707, begins at 6 a.m. Your entry fee is non-refundable. The Chattanooga Track Club reserves the right to reject any entry and to offer special invitations.




The race begins and ends at Oakwood Baptist Church (115 Oakwood St)  in Chickamauga, Ga., which is approximately 15 miles southwest of Chattanooga, TN.  To get to the start:


Take I-75 Exit 350 onto west Georgia Highway 2 (Battlefield Parkway)

Follow Georgia Highway 2 (Battlefield Parkway) 6.2 miles to Lafayette Rd.

Turn left on Lafayette Rd.   Continue south 4.7 miles through the Chickamauga Battlefield Park.

Bear right at the first light after you exit the park, then turn left at the first turn on Wilder Rd.  Proceed 0.5 miles to Oakwood St. 

Parking is available on the right.

Course Info

Chickamauga Marathon Course 2007

Start - On Oakwood Street by the driveway to the church offices. Head North on Oakwood and turn right immediately on Myers St. At Wilder road turn left. Head North on Wilder Street across Highway 27 and into the park. At the intersection of Wilder Road and Glenn-Viniard Road turn left. This is the start of the loop.

Loop - Go past Wilder tower. At the Recreation field bear left onto Chickamauga-Vittetoe road. Make a left at the Horse Unloading, cross the railroad tracks and make an immediate right onto Lytle Road. Head North on Lytle Road, after crossing the railroad tracks turn right, south, at the intersection onto Chickamauga-Vittetoe. Turn left on Dyer Road. Turn Left on Glenn-Kelly Road. Cross Lafayette Road and proceed onto Alexander’s Bridge Road. Turn left on Brotherton Road. Turn right on Jay’s Mill Road. Turn left on Alexander’s Bridge Road. Proceed across Alexander’s Bridge about 1/2 mile. There is a turnaround just before where Mag Williams road starts. Return across Alexander’s Bridge. Turn left on Viniard-Alexander Road. (The road with the hills!) At Lafayette Road cross and turn left. Turn right on Glenn-Viniard Road. Follow Glenn-Viniard to the intersection with Wilder Road.

Repeat the loop.

Finish – After the second loop turn left, south, onto Wilder Road. Proceed across Highway 27. Turn right on Myers Street. Turn left on Oakwood Street. Finish Line on Oakwood Street by the driveway to the church offices.

The 10 mile course follows the marathon to Mile 5 and returns. Mile 5 is on Glenn-Kelly Road before Lafayette Road.
